The challenge

In the heart of western Lausanne, the Cèdres district is a new urban complex spanning nearly 45,000m2, comprising 11 buildings, public spaces, shared basements and a tower. In addition to its size, the project was particularly delicate to manage as it involved two private investors and one public body (the municipality of Chavannes-près-Renens). It also had to be integrated into the neighbouring projects, such as the Cèdres pedestrian bridge, the new Avenue de la gare and the old Serres district. Moreover, the geotechnical conditions were particularly restrictive.

Our response

In order to complete such a major project, we were able to rely on the assets that have made our reputation over the years: our experience in managing neighbourhood plans, our technical mastery of complex structures, which required us to build directly on the water table, our flexibility with regard to changes in the project, as well as our ability to maintain a global vision at all times. We also carried out several studies to facilitate our clients' decision-making, adapting the scenarios according to the situations and needs. As true advisors, we were able to coordinate the different players and reconcile the very different needs of public and private entities. Finally, we were able to manage the budgets perfectly to stay within the framework of what had been defined.
